Just a little over a week before the latest national lockdown, on 28th October, six Companions from St Mary’s Chapter No. 1763, met at an eerily quiet Thame Masonic Centre and held their Installation ceremony, which was due to have taken place earlier this year in April.
For the first time, E. Comp David Hunt was installed into the chair of First Principal of St Mary’s Chapter by acting Z, E. Comp David Greig, who then also installed E. Comp David Kew into the chair of Third Principal. The other officers present were E. Comp Chris Cox (Scribe E) and Comp Bert Ingram (Principal Sojourner).
Comp Steve Warner, our most recent exaltee, was our sixth member. He was presented with an explanation of his Grand Chapter Certificate by E. Comp David Greig, our newly installed Third Provincial Grand Principal. This was the first Grand Chapter certificate delivered by David since his Installation at PGC in October.
After the meeting, five of the six members dined at the Six Bells pub in Thame where we ate and drank heartily and toasted absent brethren. We all agreed that the meeting had been really worthwhile and looked forward to the time when all the members of St Mary’s Chapter could meet once again under normal conditions.
