The new style Teddy Bears have been very well received and we have had some very great comments from the NHS nursing staff to say that the children really love them and that the design and colours are much better than the old ones.
In the first four months of 2021, we have supplied the following number of bears to the NHS to give to distressed children.
Horton A&E: 264 bears.
John Radcliffe A&E: 150
Horton Children’s Ward: 96.
Abingdon, Bicester, Henley and Witney Minor Injury Units and Banbury & Cowley Out of Hours Service: 892.
Chipping Norton Paediatric Unit: 20 and X-Ray Units: 32
The bears are very excited that our meetings will soon be starting again as the pandemic gets under control. Here they are practising their floor work, but still keeping a distance from the rest of the seated brethren.
They are also very pleased to have received an invitation to go to the Witney Carnival on Saturday 10th July when the main theme will be ‘A Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ and they would love to say hello to you for all your support and tell members of your family how they make such a difference to the distressed children in the Accident & Emergency Units at the Oxfordshire Hopsitals and Minor Injury Units. T he NHS are also allowing two of their nurses to be with the bears and tell the public how they really make a difference when treating an injured child, os someone in distress. So please come along to ‘The Leys’ recreation ground, Witney on 10th July.
