OXFORDSHIRE LODGE OF INSTALLED MASTERS No. 7770

Nigel Payne, the Secretary, writes:

The picture speaks for itself, a successful meeting of the Oxfordshire Lodge of Installed Masters was held, compliant with Government and UGLE Covid-19 safety and security guidelines, but it goes without saying that you were all sorely missed!

Suffice to say, the intention of the meeting (our installation meeting) were achieved, namely:

• fitting tributes were paid to W Bros David Anders and Robert (Barney) Barnfield – may they both Rest in Peace;

• our PrGM, R W Bro James Hilditch, was elected to continue in office and was proclaimed Worshipful Master for the ensuing year;

• W Bro Alan Meech was re-elected Treasurer ;

• all the other officers from last year were re-appointed;

• the minutes of the previous regular meeting, held on 16th March 2020 were confirmed;

• the lodge accounts for year-end 30th June 2020 were approved;

• those brethren who serve as account examiners, on the lodge committee, and who represent the lodge on OPGL committee were all re-elected;

• the revised dodge by-laws were approved;

• other administrative matters of the lodge were dealt with, such as the Almoner’s Report, Charity Steward’s Report, and the notices given during the Risings;

• a £200 donation was approved to Cherwell Community Larder (to assist them in the essential work they are doing during the Coronavirus Pandemic) and notice was given for a further donation to be made to the Oxfordshire MCF 2022 Festival.

Many thanks to Paul & Tara Buck for all their hard work in making Cardinal House Covid-19  secure and safe to hold masonic meetings, as well as to those senior officers of the lodge who attended.

Hopefully, by the time of our next meeting, on Monday 15th March 2021, some level of normality will have returned, enabling more of us to meet and enjoy our Freemasonry, but until then, Brethren, please take care and stay safe.

This link https://donate.givetap.co.uk/d/ke4i9yrg?qr-id=l7770 which you can launch on your personal computer, tablet or smart phone, takes you to the MCF Digital Alms Giving website, run by GiveTap, which enables Alms donations to be made and collected on-line via apple pay or card transaction. I used it myself yesterday and found it both easy to use and very convenient.

Considering the current predicament we face, although we were not all able to meet-up properly as a Lodge yesterday, anything you feel able to give in the cause of charity, will be thankfully received and faithfully applied.
